Project scope and objective
Rentek S.A.S. is a Colombian company with more than 25 years of experience in the leasing of industrial machinery, technology equipment, and medical-scientific equipment. Currently, it is consolidated as the third largest company in its sector in Colombia. Rentek offers renting solutions that allow SMEs to access advanced technology and specialized equipment without compromising their cash flow, promoting their technological modernization and increasing their competitiveness in the market.
IDB Invest proposes financing a long-term senior loan of up to US$10 million to support Rentek's expansion. This financing will be used to acquire new machinery and equipment, which will allow Rentek to expand its offering and reach a larger number of SMEs, with part of the resources being allocated to women-led SMEs. In this way, access to modern productive assets for small and medium-sized enterprises will be strengthened, supporting their growth and improving their operational efficiency.

Environmental and social review
IDB Invest conducts an environmental and social due diligence (ESDD) commensurate with the nature, scale, and stage of the project, and with its level of environmental and social risks and impacts. The ESDD will confirm the project E&S categorization and assess the project with respect to the client requirements in IDB Invest Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy. The results of the ESDD, including any identified gaps are described in the Environmental and Social Review Summary (ESRS) provided below. For projects approved as of 2016, any gaps with respect to IDB Invest's Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy at the time of the ESDD are addressed in the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) presented below, to comply with the date mentioned above.
