El Viajero Hostels S.A.S. (la “Compañía” o “Viajero") es una compañía establecida en Colombia que opera una cadena regional de hostales bajo la marca Viajero. Fundada en 2005, la Compañía cuenta con 22 hostales en las Américas, de los cuales 8 se encuentran en Colombia, representando así su mayor operación. Viajero es conocido por ofrecer alojamientos económicos con diferentes tipologías, desde dormitorios compartidos hasta habitaciones privadas, así como conceptos de alimentos y bebidas, entretenimiento y espacios de co-working, atendiendo tanto a viajeros internacionales, así como al público local.
Viajero está buscando una facilidad de crédito de hasta US$5 millones para financiar su plan de crecimiento y expansión en América Latina, que implica inicialmente el desarrollo de nuevos hostales en Colombia, Perú y México. Adicionalmente, la Compañía tiene como objetivo fortalecer sus prácticas de impacto y sostenibilidad, por lo que desea aprovechar la experiencia de BID Invest y sus servicios de asesoría para amplificar sus programas de sostenibilidad a nivel regional, elevando así su compromiso social y ambiental.

Environmental and social review
IDB Invest conducts an environmental and social due diligence (ESDD) commensurate with the nature, scale, and stage of the project, and with its level of environmental and social risks and impacts. The ESDD will confirm the project E&S categorization and assess the project with respect to the client requirements in IDB Invest Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy. The results of the ESDD, including any identified gaps are described in the Environmental and Social Review Summary (ESRS) provided below. For projects approved as of 2016, any gaps with respect to IDB Invest's Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy at the time of the ESDD are addressed in the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) presented below, to comply with the date mentioned above.
