•Funds will enable Camposol to scale agricultural innovations and enhance its global competitiveness.

LIMA – IDB Invest announced a financing package for Camposol S.A., one of Peru’s leading agro-exporters, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, promoting formal employment, and strengthening sector resilience.

The funds will support investments in varietal renewal of blueberry crops and avocado plantations, permanent working capital, and other corporate uses, contributing to the sustainable development of Peru’s agribusiness sector.

The operation will allow Camposol to scale its proprietary genetic program, which has demonstrated superior yields and greater water-use efficiency, enhancing resilience. Export volumes are expected to increase from 95,000 tons in 2024 to an average of 136,000 tons between 2025 and 2030. Additionally, the project is projected to create more than 2,500 direct jobs, with female participation above the national average in the agricultural sector.

Agribusiness represents a key opportunity to generate formal employment in Peru, particularly in rural areas, and to maintain the country’s export levels of products such as blueberries and avocados.

The financing package is structured through two A/B loans: one from IDB Invest and another from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), each for $140 million. In both cases, the A tranche is $100 million and the B tranche totals $40 million, mobilized through Rabobank. For IDB Invest, the A tranche includes $50 million from TADAC funds. Additionally, the project will receive $120 million in local financing from Peruvian commercial banks.

Beyond financing, IDB Invest will provide technical advisory services through the implementation of an Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP), which includes biodiversity studies, water management, prevention of occupational heat stress, and sustainable agriculture certifications.

This operation reinforces IDB Invest’s commitment to productive development, innovation, and sustainability in Latin America.
