Project scope and objective
La Línea 2 del Metro de Bogotá (el “Proyecto”) forma parte del Sistema Integrado de Transporte Público de Bogotá y es liderada por la Alcaldía Mayor de Bogotá a través de la Empresa Metro de Bogotá S.A., entidad pública, encargada de realizar la planeación, estructuración, construcción, operación, explotación y mantenimiento de las líneas férreas y de metro, y del material rodante.
El Proyecto busca contribuir al crecimiento económico y de productividad del Distrito de Bogotá (i) alcanzando mayores niveles de movilidad, conectividad, seguridad y confort en la movilidad de la población beneficiaria de este medio de transporte público; y (ii) reduciendo emisiones contaminantes y de gases efecto invernadero con una resultante mejora en la calidad del aire a lo largo del corredor.
El Proyecto se compone de tres secciones (i) Un tramo en túnel de 14,3 km de longitud (92% del trazado), (ii) Un tramo en trinchera (transición túnel a viaducto) de 0,3 km de longitud (2% del trazado), y (iii) un tramo en viaducto de 0,9 km de longitud (6% del trazado). Su trazado será mayormente subterráneo (de las 11 estaciones únicamente 1 será elevada), abarcando una longitud total de 15,5 km, y se unirá a los 23,9km de la Primera Línea del Metro de Bogotá, representando un crecimiento del 65% sobre la red del metro.
Dada la elevada inversión requerida para llevar el Proyecto a operación (aproximadamente US$7 BN), los aportes de la Nación y el Distrito necesitan ser complementados con financiamiento del sector privado. El involucramiento de BID Invest será instrumental para movilizar estos recursos y completar el plan financiero del Proyecto.
